MEMORIAL SERVICE

Keith Hancox Memorial Service

Friends, neighbours and local residents are all welcome to attend a memorial service planned for Keith Hancox. Keith was a stalwart volunteer, great friend and neighbour. This service is an opportuntity to remember Keith and say goodbye.

All Welcome – there will be a chance to say something about Keith if you want to and you are invited to bring items that remind you of Keith. The Centre will unviel plans for a permanent memorial to Keith at this event.

The New Farm Neighbourhood Centre will be closed on Thursday 26 January for the public holiday.

NEW FARM PLAY GROUP
New Year? Looking for somewhere to take your baby or toddler?
NFNC Play Group brings families together in our community. The group is registered with the Playgroups Association of Qld and all families are required to become a member of the Association upon joining. Babies to toddlers (0 to 6) are welcome. Inside and outside activities.
The Play Group Sessions:
Monday and Wednesday 10am to 11.30am. Cost is $2 a week.  Please contact the NFNC on 3358 5600.
YOGA @ NFNC

Yoga class starts at 5.45pm every Thursday.  Join us for affordable friendly relaxation.

COMING UP AT NFNC

2011 – A Busy Year @ NFNC Centre

What a busy year we’ve had! In 2011, the NFNC Neighbourhood Centre has:

- worked with over 4500 people to keep them housed or get them housed
- organised the New Farm Recovery Festival to bring the community together after the January and helped distribute donated cash to the flood victims in the immediate aftermarth.
- created valuable new partnerships and raised over $20,000 with the Patrons of New Farm.
- won the Westpac Outstanding Community Support award for Brisbane
created the Maida Lilley Community Centre, a new service hub for Fortitude Valley, and relocated HART 4000 there to better assist people experiencing homelessness.
- provide information and support to over 10,000 people across our programs.
- develop Other Voices, Other Rooms, a film by and for boarding house and hostel residents.
- upgraded our infrastructure including IT systems, policies, website, brochures and garden and community areas to create a more welcoming and effective centre.
